5 Things To Do Before The Summer Ends

Temecula, California is located in the state’s southwestern Riverside County. It has the city of Murrieta on the northwest and an Indian Reservation on the south. Due to its close location to Orange County and San Diego, it is considered an ideal location, not only for people working in those areas but also for members of nearby military installations.

    Community Activities

This very active location offers the opportunity to take part in community activities or to relax and enjoy doing things at home. Community activities include things such as taking a jeep tour of the wine country, joining one of the many different festivals held in the city, taking a hot air balloon ride, and many other events that are in constant movement year round.

    Enjoying Home Life

However, if you wish to remain at home, there are many things you can do to make the most of the summer season. These would include:

    • Bring the outside in
    • Try mood-changing colors
    • Change the backyard setting
    • Make older things look like new
    • Change a hot patio to a cooler one

    Bring the Outside In

This can easily be done by adding potted plants or flowers throughout the house. It can also be accomplished by adding window boxes and filling them with colorful blooms. In addition to color there is the delightful smell of the outdoors.

    Try Mood Changing Colors

With the wide varieties of paints on the market, it is easy to choose something that is different and will definitely change the over-all appearance and ‘feel’ of a room. This might be one of the season’s sunny yellow, orange, turquoise or seasonal citrus green shades. With botanical accessories and fabrics, this can make a huge difference to any location.

    Change the Backyard Setting

Often, over winter things get shabby in a backyard. This is the time to consider re-painting, putting in a grill, re-planting or doing other things that will not only make the area attractive but a place to enjoy as well.

Make Older Things Look Like New

By taking a good look at existing furniture, such as end tables, dressers, chairs and other things, often times it is found that they do not offer much in the way of being distinctive. This can be changed by painting, re-covering with new fabric, or using other methods. At the same time, a good look should be given to the curtains and draperies. New ones can change the entire look of a room.

Change a Hot Patio Into a Cooler One

There is nothing like a comfortable, attractive patio to bring pleasure to family and guests. Adding a re-tractable awning will shield this space from having too much sun. In addition to the awning, the addition of a simple water fountain will add the soothing sound of moving water as well as a splash of coolness. Another option is installing one of the inexpensive misters that are on the market.

If you want to make the most of summer, it starts with making the most of your home.
